What does it take to be the only genuine witch hazel to meet United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards?

It’s all in our process: First, USP requires that only dormant bark and twigs of the Hamamelis Virginiana (witch hazel) are used to produce genuine Witch Hazel. Second, the ingredients must be distilled to remove impurities, such as tannins, and capture the purest, most efficacious extracts.
Third, it must be preserved with pure ethyl alcohol, no denatured alcohols are allowed as they may be potentially irritating.

This is why only TN Dickinson’s harvests mature, organic plants during the winter – never the leaves, then uses a proprietary steam distillation process to harness the plant’s potency and combines it with pure grain alcohol – creating the purest 100% natural clinical grade Witch Hazel possible.
